The Homosassa Special Water District is a special district of the state of Florida. In order to provide the area with a safe central water system, the people of the area decided to form a special taxing district in 1959. The district is governed by a five member Board of Commissioners that is elected by the registered voters that reside within the district's boundaries. Practice Water Conservation TODAY AND EVERYDAY. Other than the air we breathe, water is the most vital factor in our lives. Nearly 97% of the world's water contains salt or is otherwise undrinkable. 2% is locked in ice caps and glaciers. 1% remains for all the needs of the people of the world. Water is simply too important to waste. Office Hours: PUBLIC NOTICE Notice of Intent to Award a contract for continuous services to McDonald Group International Inc.
